Vernissage: Tomas Colbengtson - Soejvene

For the first time ever, Tomelilla Art Hall is showing an exhibition created by a Sami artist. The exhibition consists of sculptures, montages, installations and video works that revolve around the themes of memories, places, identity and history.

The exhibition Soejvene comments on the colonial history where the collection of Sami cultural objects, and even Sami remains, were exposed to the public. We still carry this part of our common history, where the language and religion that were banned have created a void in the Sami identity and life. Questions about the right to one's own history affect all people regardless of where they come from.

The exhibition runs from September 6 - November 2.
