Spring concert with the Home Guard's Music Corps
What would Ystad be without a great band? Now you have the chance to listen to a grand concert conducted by Joakim Casagrande. A musical journey from quiet melodies to rhythmic march.
The Home Guard's music choir consists of about 30 musicians under the direction of Joakim Casagrande. Joakim, who is also an exceptionally skilled horn player, took over as conductor at the turn of the year.
Hemvärnet's music corps Ystad's history began in Ystad Frivillige Bergnings-corps in 1948 as a music department. In 1980, the Voluntary Rescue Corps' band was accepted into the Home Guard's band Ystad.
The Home Guard's band belongs to the Södra Skånska regiment, P7.
The main duties are to play at various military ceremonies and exercises, guard parades, city marches, concerts, etc. Much focus is also placed on inspiring and recruiting new musicians to keep wind music alive.
The corps together with Ystads Tattoo friends initiated Ystad MilitaryTattoo in 1999 which had performances until 2017.
The music inspector from the Armed Forces will be present at the concert.
