The underwater landscape at Haväng
Outside Haväng on the east coast of Skåne, an exciting Stone Age landscape is hidden beneath the sea surface. About ten thousand years ago, the water level was much lower. At that time, the area was covered in forests, where both animals and people lived. To understand what the area looked like and how people used the landscape at that time, we have to dive below the surface.
Anton Hansson, from the Department of Geology at Lund University, explains how to conduct underwater archaeological investigations and why the hidden landscapes are important for understanding our prehistory.
In collaboration with the Association for the Preservation of Ancient Monuments and Local Heritage in Southeastern Skåne. After the lecture, coffee and homemade apple cake will be served.
