The ROOM at Ystads Teater

“The Room” is a unique performance where two renowned dancers from different worlds have created an entirely new style—a fusion of ballet and ballroom. Katariina Edling has been a soloist at the Royal Ballet and has also danced with Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, the Finnish National Ballet, and the Estonian National Ballet. Tobias Wallin is well-known to Swedish TV viewers after several seasons of participation in Let’s Dance. Tobias is also a highly accomplished competitive dancer in the genre of ten-dance (Ballroom dance).

“The Room” tells the story of dancers. About passion, about emotions, and about the longing for something new. It’s a story about life, love, and disappointments. A story about how an unexpected encounter can create something new and unique. In the performance, the dance scenes are interwoven with film that moves the narrative forward in both time and space, making it easy to follow the storyline.
