Sports holiday at Glimmingehus

Light and warmth were a big focus in February for medieval people! That's why we're making it the theme for our sports holiday activities

In our workshops you can cast wax candles and make the wick yourself from flax, make a small oil lamp from modeling clay, and get to know the scents from the light sources of the time: wax, cod liver oil and tallow. You can also create fun and beautiful bees from paper, and contribute to their large hive from the same material!

We'll tell you and show you about wood chopping and fire handling in our 17th-century kitchen, and give tours of the castle with a focus on light and heating. You can also take part in a quiz about the theme in our brewery!
