Solo from the Orchestra Pit – A Musical Stand-Up
Elias Faingersh from Teater KEF
What does a performance at the Metropolitan Opera look like from the orchestra pit?
At the start of his career, Elias Faingersh worked as a second trombonist at the world-renowned opera house in New York. Now, he shares his experiences in a personal, moving, and humorous musical stand-up show.
Elias Faingersh—musician, composer, and entertainer—delivers a comedic and heartfelt performance about his years in New York, where he studied at the Juilliard School of Music and had the opportunity to play in the orchestra of the famous Metropolitan Opera.
It was there that he made a life-changing decision—to leave New York and the security of being an orchestra musician for the uncertain but far more fulfilling path of a solo career.
In this beautiful, touching, and highly entertaining performance, Faingersh plays famous opera arias and his own compositions. Using live electronics, he creates the illusion of an entire orchestra, making the music come alive in an extraordinary way.
This show has been performed in multiple countries and has become a major international success!
