Create a paper lantern with Tó Quintas

Tuesday, April 10 at 13.00–15.00 the artist Tó Quintas holds a workshop at the Ystad Art Museum where you can make your own paper lantern. Paper lanterns are a popular decoration at festivals all over the world, especially in Asia and often linked to the winter solstice.

In the Stora atelier on the art museum's entrance floor, there is rice paper, sticks and other materials to create with. Using colored paper in different patterns, you can create a lantern inspired by sunny times to use during the moments when we miss the sun the most.
The workshop is free and suitable for all ages. Children between 8–12 years old can participate together with an adult. The number of participants is limited to 15 people.

The workshop is held by the artist Tó Quintas who is based in the south of Portugal and who spends week 15 at an artist residency in Ystad. The workshop is held in English with language support in Swedish.

REGISTRATION takes place by sending an email to konstmuseet@ystad.se, stating the number of people and age (child/youth/adult).

The event is part of the international art project SUNPLUGGED, which is initiated by ArQuente, Transversal Project and Basso Profilo and financed by Creative Europe, the Culture Council, and Region Skåne. The project is carried out in collaboration with Ystad Municipality and Ystad Art Museum.
