Create cyanotype magic with Kah Bee Chow

Wednesday 11 April at 13.00–15.00 you can come and try cyanotype in a workshop with the artist Kah Bee Chow.

Cyanotype is an easy and playful photographic technique that dates back to the 19th century and has historically been used to copy drawings, make images of plants and develop photographic negatives.
In the Stora atelier on the art museum's entrance floor, there is cyanotype paper and other materials needed. Lay things out on the prepared papers and create photographic images using the light of the sun! The process takes 20-40 minutes. While you wait for the sunlight to do its job or for the artwork to dry, you can learn more about the uses of cyanotype and the fascinating chemistry behind the process.

The workshop is free and suitable for all ages. Children between 8-12 years old can participate together with an adult. The number of participants is limited to 15 people.

The workshop is held by Kah Bee Chow who is based in Malmö and who spends week 15 at an artist residency in Ystad. The workshop is held in English with language support in Swedish.

REGISTRATION takes place by email to konstmuseet@ystad.se, please let us know the number of people and age (child/youth/adult).

The event is part of the international art project SUNPLUGGED, which is initiated by ArQuente, Transversal Project and Basso Profilo and financed by Creative Europe, the Culture Council, and Region Skåne. The project is carried out in collaboration with Ystad Municipality and Ystad Art Museum.
