Legends in the Dark – Myths, Music

by the glow of candlelight they are brought to life – the forest roar that beckons in the forest, the linnet playing by the river, the werewolf howling in the night… and other unknown things from the deepest recesses of folk belief.

Historian Lena Alebo (known from Österlen Museum among others) talks about mythical creatures, legends and historical beliefs about death, grief, transformation and the cycles of life – from Österlen and other parts of the world.

Between the stories, Petronella Torin, cellist and singer, lets the music sneak in – sometimes wistful, sometimes whisperingly wild, and sometimes comfortingly warm.
Music and stories are woven together in an intimate performance that moves between folk belief, myth and memory – at a time of year when the border between the worlds is said to be the thinnest.
