When Alfred gets into increasingly serious problems with crime and drugs, Pernilla puts her whole life on hold to help him. Slowly but surely, the family is drawn into a chaotic spiral, and suddenly everything in their lives revolves around Alfred. One night, the police arrest him for involvement in drug dealing with one of Sweden's most notorious gangs, and a thought begins to grow in Pernilla: I am co-dependent with a criminal.
