Österlen's landscape development

With the help of old texts and maps, pollen analysis and various tracks, it is possible to create a picture of how the landscape has developed in Österlen since the Ice Age. The picture is dramatic, major changes have taken place not least in the last 250 years. Österlen has a unique geology and human land use here has been special. This has led to the establishment of a special fauna and flora. Urban Emanuelsson, professor emeritus at the Swedish University of Agriculture, has spent the last few decades studying how landscapes in Europe developed historically. More recently, he has used ground radar and drones, which he will describe during the evening's talk.
The activity is a joint arrangement with the Biosphere Association.
