Music at Ribbingsberg - An evening in Vienna

Vienna is the city of cafes where you can enjoy a Wiener Mélange, which consists of powerful, flavorful espresso mixed with airy milk. Wonderful contrasts, just like in this Viennese evening with virtuosic and beautiful sounds for violin and piano with Anders Lagerqvist and Annika Bjelk.

The program opens with a sonata by Joseph Haydn, admired and loved by the Viennese audience for his refined and innovative music, and when Haydn heard the prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus, he understood that Mozart would be the next superstar in Vienna. A hundred years later, the brilliant violinist Fritz Kreisler was born, who toured the world and delighted audiences with his own romantic gems, and also with older pieces that he claimed to have rediscovered, until it was discovered that he had written them himself. The youngest of the concert's Viennese brothers is Anton Webern, who chose notes with great care for his concentrated and sparse music, which is to be played "barely audible" or "like a breath."

Violinist Anders Lagerqvist has been the artistic director of the innovative concert series "Music on the Udden" since 2012, where music and text interact with the art exhibitions at Prince Eugen's Waldemarsudde.

Annika Bjelk is a prominent and versatile pianist, chamber musician, arranger and conductor.
