With the working name air and water

Schhh consists of the sound artists and composers Ann Rosén and Sten-Olof Hellström, who have collaborated with various art and music projects around the world since the 1980s. Since 2016, they have been operating in Östra Hoby where they run the platform Shhh (https://shhh.se) with production, stage, record label, book publishing and residency operations.

Sten-Olof Hellström
born 1956 Stockholm

In 2013, Sten-Olof celebrated 30 years as a professional composer with a doctorate at the University of Huddersfield, UK (PhD in composition), the thesis is called "Algorithmically-driven synthesis and feedback system: an investigation into the aesthetic and technical processes in my compositional practice" . His music has been performed at concerts, festivals, radio broadcasts all over the world.

In recent years, Sten-Olof has worked on projects that spanned a large area, but all of them have had music as a common denominator. Audio excursions in Stockholm's Archipelago is one such example, where together with Ann Rosén, he conducted EAM concerts, workshops and presentations in Sthlm's archipelago with a sailboat as a platform.
Sten-Olof divides his life between composing and performing as a live electronic musician. He usually plays in various duos together with Ann Rosén, Jakob Riis, John Bowers and Lars Bröndum. Sten-Olof also gives Masterclasses in composition mostly in Great Britain and Eire (Ireland).
Sten-Olof composes both electroacoustic music for acoustic instruments, right now he is working on new works for Lisa Ullén (piano) and Jörgen Pettersson (saxophone).

Ann Rosén
born 1956, Hörnefors.

Ann Rosén (b. 1956) artist, composer and performer.
After her MFA in 1988 at Konstfack, Ann Rosén has worked professionally as an artist. Early in her career she became interested in using sound as material and since the 1990s the artistic focus has been on sound art and music.

Ann Rosén's work has been shown/performed at, among others, the Art Academy, the Royal Opera, Moderna Muséet Stockholm and South Bank London.
Rosén's artistry includes social sculptures, choreographic works, spatial designs, sound art, choral works, sound installations, video, sculpted silence, performance and art music.
In her artistic process, she explores interpersonal relationships and our relationships with the outside world. Her art can be described as the consequence of an action.

In recent years, Ann Rosén has received a lot of attention for the project Drawing Sessions, where she draws with conductive graphite connected to computers, which create music momentarily in the moment, while she draws.
As a composer, Ann Rosén has written art music for both small and large ensembles, such as her own orchestra The Barrier Orchestra. It comes strange, is a Nordic collaboration with which was performed live in Östra Hoby in June 2021. Rosén is also one of the creators of Syntjuntan, a trio of composers who, for about ten years, together with the audience sewed synthesizers and then performed electroacoustic music on them.
In August 2023, Ann Rosén's book "Recycling the Work Process" came out, which describes her artistic process in the form of a graphic score.

The concert is supported by Musik i Syd.
