Since 1994, the Scanian Air Force Corps, together with the Navy's Music Corps, has organized the Thirteenth Night Concert on January 5 at 4 p.m.

In this year's concert, the baritone Jens Persson Hertzman takes part, he is a soloist at the Royal Opera. He was born and raised in Södra Sandby outside Lund. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, he also went to the Opera College in Stockholm and graduated in the spring of 2013. Since 2015, he has been part of the soloist ensemble and performed over 300 performances at the Royal Opera, including the role of the Count in The Marriage of Figaro and the title role in The Barber of Seville as well as roles in Maria Stuarda, Carmen, Xerxes, La bohème, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, and more.

The Navy's Music Corps consists of 30 full-time professional musicians and is stationed in the world heritage city of Karlskrona. The music corps dates back to the 1680s, and has operated in an unbroken line ever since.

The Navy's Music Corps performs about 150 performances each year through participation in official state visits, royal audiences, high guards, band concerts, tattoos and concerts. The music corps has participated in foreign missions in, among other places, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan with both ceremonial music and musical entertainment for the purpose of caring for staff.

The music corps has extensive concert activities available to the public, where the repertoire spans a wide range of different wind music genres and is aimed at different target groups, all in order to meet a new audience. The music corps' performances give the Armed Forces good marketing and are also important for future recruitment and for the entire Swedish brass music genre.

With its long tradition and musical heritage, the Marine Music Corps is an important ambassador for the preservation and development of military music. The Music Corps has continuous collaboration with established conductors and soloists, and with its recognized high international level, the Marines Music Corps is today one of the leading ensembles of its kind in the world.
