Mando Diao: Wandering train in the Homeland

Mando Diao: Strövtåg i Hembygden is a truly unique concert evening where the band reconnects with its roots. In addition, Wilmer X is in the evening at Christinehof Slott!

For Carl-Johan Fogelklou, bassist and one of the original members of Mando Diao, you can truly say that Christinehof, the venue for this summer's event, is a stroll through the countryside. The place radiates both magic and the feeling of home. As a child, CJ spent a lot of time at his godfather Carl Piper's castle.

"We often sat in the park and ate blueberry pancakes with my grandmother, went on a wild boar safari, wandered around all the rooms of the castle while dad told us about all the furniture and where it came from"

But one thing stood out to CJ, the music. As a 3-year-old, he experienced his first concert at Christinehof, Sven-Bertil Taube performed on a beautiful summer evening in front of the castle in 1983. In 1990 it was time again, the Rock Train! Maybe it was somewhere here that the seed was sown? Perhaps this very place created the dream of being able to play and express one's creativity through music. Shortly thereafter, the tennis racket became a guitar, the rape fields outside CJ's parents' house became the audience. The Scanian fields became Woodstock in 1969. All summers became the summer of love. The dream was so strong and the desire so great. And one day in a garage in Borlänge, the dream came true. Mando Diao has put many miles behind him during his 22 years of touring and creating, therefore it will be an extra strong experience to swing down the beautiful alley, down towards the castle where it all once began for CJ.
