Magnus Lindgren meets Musica Vitae
Magnus Lindgren – saxophone, clarinet, flute
Musica Vitae
“Jazz Invit(a)es” is a new concert collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Magnus Lindgren and the chamber orchestra Musica Vitae.
Magnus Lindgren, an award-winning flutist, saxophonist and clarinetist as well as a prolific arranger, composer and conductor who collaborates with big bands, symphony orchestras and smaller ensembles, has been called both “Europe’s best jazz flutist” and “Sweden’s answer to Quincy Jones”. The music legend is, along with Miles Davis, one of his most important early inspirations.
The chamber orchestra Musica Vitae, formed in 1980 and based in Växjö, is one of Sweden’s leading string orchestras. Musica Vitae has art music as its starting point, from baroque to contemporary music, but cultivates a diverse repertoire and is happy to collaborate across genres and in innovative projects.
