About Karin Boye
From an early age, Boye wrote poetry, and as a young woman, she established herself as one of the leading Swedish poets of her time. In the 1930s, she explored lyrical modernism, co-founded the literary magazine Spektrum, and wrote poetry and essays. Her dystopian novel Kallocain (1940), depicting a future dictatorship, became a major success. Boye is especially renowned as a poet, having written some of the most beloved poems of the 20th century.
