Cultural environments along the coast

Along the seventy-kilometer coast of Simrishamn municipality are many hidden gems - coastal cultural environments such as fishing villages and harbors, eel huts, ancient burial mounds, dolmens and settlements that are a large part of our identity. After the violent storm Babet, Österlens Museum made an inventory of these cultural environments to see which ones had been damaged and which ones could be in danger in the future. How do you choose which places are most important to save? Antiquarians Ulrika Wallebom and Laura Eylers talk about thoughts that arose in connection with the project. Rachel Runesson, the museum's guest researcher this fall, contributes with a European perspective.
In collaboration with the Association for the Preservation of Ancient Monuments and Local Heritage in Southeast Skåne. After the lecture, coffee and homemade apple cake will be served. Price: SEK 150, members SEK 100. Ticket purchase: https://www.simrishamn.se/kultur/osterlens-museum/program-pa-osterlens-museum
