Cooking in Times of Crisis for real
During World War II, the entire population of Sweden was on high alert. Would Sweden be able to maintain its neutrality, or would we be drawn into the war? En Svensk Tiger ("A Swedish Tiger") was the motto in all situations. Everyone, both children and adults, held tightly to their rations while trying to live as normally as possible.
Mari Andrée from the Beredskapsmuseet in Viken will talk about crisis cooking during Sweden's earlier rationing periods and how it might be relevant in our time. What was life like for those managing households in the early 1940s? And was it really better back then? There will also be a chance to taste a wartime cake.
In collaboration with the Association for Antiquities and Local Heritage in Southeastern Skåne. After the lecture, coffee and apple cake will be served.
