Dave Holland is the guest of honor at the jazz festival this year. The British-born bassist, composer and bandleader is coming to Ystad with the new top ensemble KISMET. Dave Holland’s career spans more than five decades. He has released over thirty albums under his own name and has appeared on hundreds of others. In the late 1960s, the young bassist was recruited by Miles Davis and appeared on the albums “Filles de Kilimanjaro” (1968), “In a Silent Way” (1969) and “Bitches Brew” (1970).
KISMET is the joint creation of Dave Holland and American saxophonist Chris Potter.
