Kebnekajse (S)
KEBNEKAJSE Electrified fiddle music, groundbreaking folk rock! A very classic and original band. When their heavy version of the Horgalåten played at countless music parties, the ring dance went around so that hippie hair fluttered and knee tassels smoked. Heavy and tight, light and airy. Kebnekajse, known for their electrified fiddle music, may be a cult band, but they refuse to play on nostalgia.
The first LP that the record company Silence released was organist Bo Hansson's (from the 60s duo Hansson & Karlsson) interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel "The Lord of the Rings" in 1970. A few years later, the album spread across most of the world and gained an international cult status that it has maintained ever since. Now a star-studded parade of musicians with a past in groups such as Kebnekajse, Dag Vag, Ragnarök, Fläsket Brinner, Träd Gräs och Stenar and Urban Turban are coming to Solhällan to interpret this powerful epic.
