Jojkkonsert med Juhán Niila Stålka

A concert with traditional yoik and stories about people, places, and animals from the area around Stora Lule River. You will learn more about yoik and what makes it so unique.

Juhán Niila Stålka is a yoiker and storyteller from Jokkmokk. With warmth and humor, he weaves together stories from the past with contemporary themes. Juhán Niila learned to yoik from his father during their travels to visit his áhkko and áddja (grandmother and grandfather). Now, he invites you to join him in exploring the world of yoik.

Over the years, Juhán Niila has performed on stages such as the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Skansen, the Royal College of Music, Kungsträdgården, Márkomeannu, Riddu Riđđu, Ájtte, the Sámi Parliament, and Norrlandsoperan.
