Johannes Dickbauer from Vienna is a classically trained violin virtuoso who moves freely between art music and jazz. His influences come from various sources, including big band music, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, Igor Stravinsky, and Béla Bartók. In his quartet, J.D.Hive, Johannes Dickbauer pushes boundaries, blending classical, folk music, jazz, and rock into what London Jazz News calls "classical chamber jazz of the highest quality, worthy of ECM."
