Inauguration of the Dragon Table

"Scandinavian dragons ride to bath" is now displayed in its full glory for a limited time in one of the art museum's large collection halls. The painting will be inaugurated on Wednesday 26 June at 14.00 by the art museum's director Ýrr Jónasdóttir.

Since Ystad's military history museum was closed at the beginning of the year, it has been discussed how and where the giant painting "Scandinavian dragoons ride to bath" should be displayed. The 4.6 x 10 meter painting by the Danish artist Oscar Matthiesen has been shown in various places in Ystad since the 1950s but never really got a place, the canvas has had to be folded. Now Ystad's art museum is finally showing the painting in its full original size again!
