Insects in Backåkra Nature Reserve
The open, sun-warmed sandy lands around Backåkra and on adjacent lands are among the country's most species-rich and interesting insect environments.
On the initiative of Bo Beskow and Dag Hammarskjöld, the area became a nature reserve in 1958 and has since attracted visitors interested in insects (entomologists).
From a more than fifty-year perspective, Mikael Sörensson, a summer resident in the area, gives glimpses of the richness of insects and presents examples of exciting bees, strange beetles and sparkling golden stingrays, among much else.
Mikael Sörensson is a biologist and insect expert and appears on the radio's Naturmorgon.
