Hakan Berg

This year's summer exhibition features Håkan Berg's austere and playful art. With inspiration as a guiding light, he works with both traditional graphic methods and experiments with other materials and expressions. The abstract imagery is a strength in his art.

Håkan Berg's (b. 1958) artistic career encompasses graphics, painting and sculpture. Berg is educated at the Kristianstad Art School, the Umeå University Art Teacher Training School, and the Forum Graphic School in Malmö. Since 1998, he has been working from his studio in Maglehem in Österlen.

His work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions in Sweden as well as internationally, at Galleri Thomas Wallner, Simrishamn; Tomelilla Art Gallery; Wanås Konst, Knislinge; and Galleri Birthe Laursen, Paris. Berg is also represented in collections at Malmö Museums, the National Museum, and the Swedish National Art Council.

In 2023, Håkan Berg became this year's Henry Mayne Fellow.
