Gösta Werner, sailor, painter, and friend.

After 36 years at the helm of the furniture factory in Gärsnäs, which his grandfather started in 1893, he sold the company at the turn of the millennium. During his tenure, the company evolved from Sweden's leading style furniture manufacturer into the country's foremost industry for well-designed wooden furniture. This led to prestigious deliveries to the Swedish Parliament, Nationalmuseum, the House of Nobility, Rosenbad, and leading Swedish companies such as Asea, Astra, and Volvo, as well as all Swedish embassies.

His next career in the 2000s became that of an Egyptologist, with 33 trips to Egypt involving 900 travelers and three books on the subject. Leif Hjärre organized the Nobel section in the new library in Alexandria.

He co-founded the Gösta Werner Society in 1980 and served as its chairman for the first 40 years, then as vice chairman. His fourth book is titled "Österlenskt och Österländskt" (Eastern Skåne and the Orient). He has performed at the Cairo Opera and was a summer guest on Swedish Radio P1 in 2003.
