Fredrik Lindqvist

Woodcuts on patterned fabrics. Several image elements are combined into larger sections with the help of stitches, a process not entirely unlike the one Mary Shelley explores in her horror novel Frankenstein from 1818.

Fredrik Lindqvist was born in 1968 in Kristianstad and grew up in Bromölla. After studying art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå, he completed his education in Germany at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Today, Lindqvist lives and works in Arkelstorp, Skåne, and in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany.
