Pilot's weekend at Glimmingehus
We are inspired by both history and nature, and make beautiful and colorful pennants, paper birds, and windsocks. N can also be on a digital aviation history quiz!
Flying kites did not come to Europe until after the Middle Ages, but a similar device, known as a windsock, was well known. These could be used in war, including to release a source of fire on a city. The windsocks could be gruesomely designed for intimidation. Flags could be used both as identification in war, and for church processions.
Workshop runs between 12-16. Castle tours are given at 11, 13 & 15.
