Writer's evening: Per Svensson
Per Svensson talks about his August prize-winning book. Anders Zorn was not only the painter prince in Mora who became rich by painting hills and bathing women, nor only the magician who conjured light reflections and rustling fabrics with his brush. Zorn was also a man of his time, an international entrepreneur and one of the world's most sought-after portrait painters. In a biography built on extensive source material, Per Svensson draws a full-length portrait of Sweden's best-known artist. A story of a virtuoso artist who conquered the world but ultimately lost his soul.
Per Svensson has been culture director and reporter at Expressen, where he worked for more than two decades. In total, he has previously published thirteen books of essays and reports, among them: The Smiling Killer, Dramat på Norrmalmstorg, Hem till kriget, Frostviken and Svenska hem.
