Lecture DENIED
Involuntary loneliness not only affects the mental state with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts, but also increases the risk of, among other things, cardiovascular diseases. The lecture explains why this is so, and why community, both with people, pets and nature has a protective effect on health.
Peter Strang is an oncologist, professor of palliative medicine at Karolinska Institutet and author
to several books, including "To belong - about loneliness and community" (Nature and Culture).
He has also appeared on television and radio, including in the program "Body and soul" on P1.
