Lecture with music

In a unique 17th-century performance that combines music and lectures, you will hear how it happened when Scania was annexed to Sweden with the Peace of Fontainebleau in 1679.

Historian Johanna Vadenbring talks about the peace negotiations when the leading monarch in Europe, Louis XIV – known as the Sun King – ruled in Sweden's favor.

Between the narrative sections, music is played on period instruments, composed for the ceremonies surrounding the king's bedtime, among other things.

The musicians are Fredrik Bock, theorbo, and Adam Grauman, viola da gamba.

The event is held in collaboration between Glimmingehus and the Association for the Preservation of Antiquities and Heritage in Southeast Skåne.

The performance is given in the castle's main hall and tickets are booked via email, glimmingehus@raa.se .
