Lecture and bus tour: Per Albin line
Lecture and bus tour together with Göran Mossberg, is a reserve officer in the Coastal Artillery/Navy and chairman of the Swedish Fortification History Association.
The lecture is about Sweden's permanent coastal defences, with a main focus on the area in and around Simrishamn during the readiness years 1939 – 1945. The focus is on the extensive Skåne line or the Per-Albin line, as it is also called. The defense line, which stretches along the coast from Båstad to Vieryd in Ronneby municipality, was built up at a rapid pace after Germany attacked Denmark and Norway on April 9, 1940.
After the talk, we go on a bus tour. The bus departs at approx. 11.30 from Stortorget in Simrishamn. Under Göran Mossberg's leadership, we travel north towards Haväng with several stops along the coast where we take a closer look at some of the fortifications built during the Second World War. Bring your own coffee basket.
Lectures and bus tours are carried out in collaboration with the Association for the Preservation of Ancient Monuments and Homeland in South-Eastern Scania.
