Lecture: The visual world of the Migration Period
The Migration Period occurred during the Iron Age, from about 400 to 550 AD. Finds from this period of antiquity are rare in Österlen, but the museum's collections now include a gold bracteate from the Migration Period.
Johan Adetorp, doctor in the history of religion at Linnaeus University, takes us into the religious beliefs and world of thought of the Migration Period. In this Easter bun lecture, we will encounter the symbolic motifs on the gold bracteates of the Migration Period. By approaching these images, we get glimpses of the religious beliefs and world of thought of the time. After the lecture, coffee and homemade Easter buns will be served to everyone who has purchased tickets by Tuesday 25/3.
In collaboration with the Association for the Preservation of Ancient Monuments and Local Heritage in Southeastern Skåne.
Price: 150 SEK, members 100 SEK. Ticket purchase via the museum's website.
