Föredrag: Filmlandskap i Skåne, del 1
The Skåne landscape has over the years attracted an unusually large number of distinctive filmmakers, including Jan Troell, Ingmar Bergman, Hasse & Tage, Bo Widerberg, and Richard Hobert. What has drawn them to Skåne is the variety of landscapes, all gathered in a relatively small area, more hours of sunlight than further north, and the proximity to an international airport. The landscape, with its wide views, is also perfect for cinemascope and boasts numerous cinematic castles and untouched environments. Additionally, the cradle of Swedish cinema – today’s SF – was located in Kristianstad.
Author and journalist Caroline Alesmark is currently promoting her book Filmlandskap i Skåne (Film Landscapes in Skåne), which covers the Skåne film landscape, highlighting 50 films and the locations where they were filmed. In her lecture, she focuses on the early history of cinema up to the 1970s.
