Cosmic museum - Invigning
Be part of the grand opening of Österlen's new Cosmic Museum. The exhibition presents an alternative to the current lifeless materialistic worldview. Through "cosmic symbols," the exhibition illustrates the eternal horizon of life, as spontaneously and unexpectedly experienced by Danish writer Martinus (1890-1981) during Easter in 1921. Without prior knowledge or formal education, he drew these symbols to convey his ongoing experience while writing his books, which have been available in libraries since the 1950s. His books and ideas were never meant to be encapsulated in a sect, religion, or organization—they were intended to be freely accessible for everyone to evaluate on their own.
The inauguration takes place on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, at 4 PM, with free admission to the new museum.
The cosmic symbols describe how everyone is an eternal living being, born into a new body when the old one becomes too worn out to use. In this perspective, death does not exist! One can see the threads of fate from life to life, as parts of an eternal cycle between light and darkness. The symbols illustrate how minerals, plants, animals, and human beings are different stages in the development of consciousness, occurring within one part of the cycle. They show how humanity, through the experience of "reaping what one sows," gradually leaves behind "the killing principle," i.e., war and the animal kingdom. The Sphinx in the Egyptian desert, according to Martinus, is one of many expressions of this transition that has yet to receive a scientific explanation, but which might explain why "he" and "she" are merging more and more. The symbols also depict how we carry with us longings and talents, evolving from life to life; for instance, Martinus believed that Mozart had not learned to compose so well in just this life.
