The rise and fall of the mill society

Susanna Alakoski made her authorial debut with the novel Svinalängorna (August Prize 2006), which became both a play and a film. Since then, Alakoski has written plays, several novels and has been the editor of several notable anthologies, children's books and two daily books, Oktober i Fattigsverige (2012) and April i Anhörigsverige (2015). The latter was staged as a play at Stockholm's Stadsteater.
Alakoski was appointed in 2021 as the first holder of the professorship in Moa Martinsson's name at Linköping University. Alakoski is current with Dotterdottern, part three in a historical novel suite of four novels that deal with, among other things, women's and textile industry history.
