Åke’s mom, Berit, is always in a rush every morning. Breakfast must be eaten quickly, the O’Boy must be gulped down, and even though Åke is terribly tired, he has to hurry so that his mom can get to work on time.

But one morning, something strange happens. Åke’s mom has grown sharp, pointy teeth, a long tail, and—is that fire coming out of her nose when she gets angry? Åke realizes he has to take care of his mom and bring her to the doctor. But it’s not that easy when she only wants to go to the zoo and scare children at the playground!

"When Åke’s Mom Forgot" is a theatrical adaptation of Pija Lindenbaum’s beloved picture book of the same name. A playful and humorous story about how a child experiences an adult’s stressful everyday life, and what happens when the roles are reversed—when the child suddenly has to take care of their parent.

Told in a fun, imaginative, and musical way, this performance is filled with engaging song numbers that bring the story to life!
