Tuesday, October 3 at 19:00, tickets SEK 180
Awicha is a narrative concert where Khala Uma is dedicated to Awicha -Grandmother but which is also a look back at 35 years of travels between Sweden and Bolivia. The performance premiered on March 19 this year at a packed Palladium in Malmö. In August, the show was played in Ladan at Kafe Nyfiket in Rättvik. They have also played on Bolivia's national day in Stockholm, invited by the Bolivian ambassador. They have also managed to play at a festival in France. for Andean music. This is what Alva, who is responsible for the concerts in Rättvik, wrote:

"Khala Uma touches with warmth and sincerity, the drum, the flutes and the singing enchant when we in
the audience meets the Andes"

During the pandemic years 2020–2021, Khala Uma began to collectively compose their own music in the Andean tradition. Music that they recorded with the support of Region Skåne and the Culture Council with Jatte Nilsson as producer. The digital album Awischa is now being released in two versions, one with Spanish lyrics and one with Swedish.
The hub of Khala Uma's music and arrangements is the vocals and various flutes, drums, guitar and charrango as well as stringed instruments such as the mandola. The songs are performed in Aymara, Spanish and Swedish, with rhythms from the Andes and with melodies influenced by Swedish folk music as well as by meetings with folk musicians from other countries. In Khala Uma's newly written music, winds from the Andean high plateau blow together with the sounds of the Scanian plain in the song, and in Allan Skrobe's guitar and mandola playing, strings of Balkan music are heard.
