Art Walk 2023 – Roots
In the idea of existence, the root is the anchor for the living and the organic. It creates a compass about home and away, known and unknown landscapes, while also being part of traditions of ideas where ecology and gravity are fundamental factors. Through this year's theme, Roots, the participating artists and artist groups investigate various issues around collective memory construction, history writing and the search for alternative timelines and possibilities. The exhibition presents sculptures, sound works, paintings, installations, procedural works and interventions.
For the eighth year in a row, ÖSKG/Tjörnedala Konsthall organizes in collaboration with Stiftelsen Skånska Landskap the outdoor exhibition Art Walk in the nearby scenic Tjörnedala Strövmråde. In this year's Art Walk, five site-specific works by artists from this spring's Open call are presented, in parallel with works by students at the Österlenskolan for art and design in Simrishamn. Art Walk is a collaboration with Stiftelsen Skånska Landskap, which takes care of the Tjörnedala walking area with hiking trails, barbecue areas, nature conservation, etc. The foundation offers 19 beautiful walking areas around Skåne with a total of approx. 40 kilometers of hiking trails.
The exhibition is open 24 hours a day and the artworks are located along the Blue Path in the Tjörnedala walking area.
