Ann Rosén at Ystad Art Museum

Rethinking

In 2023, Ann Rosén's book "Recycling the Work Process" was published, which describes her artistic process over forty years in the form of a graphic score. The original drawings for the score have been purchased by Ystad Art Museum and will be on display in an exhibition on the second floor of the art museum throughout 2025.

Under the title "Rethinking", Ann Rosén and Jesper Nielsen are now interpreting the score. During these performances, Jesper Nielsen's electric guitar interacts with Ann Rosén's graphite pencils that are connected to live electronics. It is a continuation, but also an open exploration, of the ongoing project called Rethinking (The Work Process). During the course of the project, Rosén and Nielsen want to investigate and make available interpretation models for graphic notation, so that the work can be interpreted by other musicians and practitioners.
