Andy Sheppard Trio

Andy Sheppard Trio is a newly formed ensemble featuring three exceptional musicians, each of whom has shaped European jazz since the 1980s: British saxophonist Andy Sheppard, Italian pianist Rita Marcotulli, and French double bassist Michel Benita.

Andy Sheppard is one of Europe’s leading saxophonists, as well as a bandleader and composer. He has composed over three hundred and fifty works, ranging from solo compositions to big band and chamber music.

Rita Marcotulli began her career in the early 1980s and has been involved in a series of prestigious collaborations with renowned musicians such as Chet Baker, Richard Galliano, and Enrico Rava.

Michel Benita has been active on the international jazz scene since the late 1970s. He has collaborated with many major jazz figures, including Lee Konitz, Archie Shepp, and Joe Lovano.
