The play depicts the final years of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life, which came to be shaped by Antonio Salieri, an elderly composer driven by a crippling jealousy who cannot bear to prove Mozart's unleashed and self-evident genius.

It is a dizzying showdown with the black in the shame and the guilt where the mediocrity finally "wins", which in turn leads to his merciless downfall. The play swirls forward with a driven storytelling joy full of contrasts, vitality, love, infidelity, creativity and pitch blackness.

The stage at Skillinge Teater is filled with dazzling and evocative music, with people in motion, unexpected events and masuqe-inspired choreography and we promise you an Amadeus you've never seen before.
