“A Tribute to Bill Evans”

He participated in Miles Davis’ album “Kind of Blue”, a milestone in jazz history, and developed the jazz trio – piano, bass and drums. His “Sunday at the Village Vanguard” (1961) is considered one of the best live albums in jazz ever.
This concert pays tribute to the great American pianist & composer Bill Evans (1929–1980).

“One of my most important role models when I started playing jazz,” says pianist Jan Lundgren, who took the initiative for the trio collaboration and this year celebrates the thirtieth anniversary with his own Trio.

The bassist in the tribute trio is Anders Jormin, for forty years one of Sweden’s foremost jazz musicians,
on drums is none other than Wolfgang Haffner from Germany, one of the world’s foremost jazz drummers.
