Will Ravlunda become a military base? DENIED

The agreement, the DCA agreement, which the US and Swedish defense ministers have signed, may mean that Ravlunda is turned into an American military base. The agreement states, among other things,
- The US gets the right to have troops, store military equipment and conduct activities on Swedish territory. Examples of equipment are combat vehicles, ammunition and weapon systems.
There are no reservations about nuclear weapons.
The Minister of Defense refers to "Sweden's position is known" and the US replies that they never talk about what kind of weapons they have with them...
The proposal is out for consultation. Simrishamn is one of the affected municipalities that is allowed to comment.
Kerstin Bergeå, chairman of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Association, will come to Simrishamn on Friday, March 22, to clarify the question marks surrounding the agreement. The municipal management is invited to the meeting.
