"Krister and I met for the first time in 1972 at Sunderby Folkhögskola's Art Department outside Luleå.
We both "lived" together in the school's ceramics workshop for the first half of the year, although the continuation led to different artistic expressions.
We both have a past in the interior of Lapland and an early interest in nature, politics, cultural interactions and the human connection to the society we create.
The Sami comes through clearly in Krister's sculptures, which also became more and more clear the more he expressed himself as a sculptor.
If you were born in the interior of Lapland and have a family that lived there for a long time, there are always Sami connections. Through our interest in politics and man's relationship with the surrounding society and nature, it is an obvious topic to touch on in our art, for both of us.

In my works, it is something that appears among other unlikely connections in the stories of the works.
What always came up at our meetings was that we greeted each other with the words "Bures Bures" ("Hello, hello" in Northern Sami).
The exhibition title, Paying attention, is taken from Laurie Anderson when she describes what artistic work is about.
Krister's passing, in the middle of work on the exhibition, puts all ideas and plans for continued collaboration in a painful and irrevocable light."
