Karin Tingne & Big Blowin' Band

Big Blowin´Band, traditional big band jazz in the same spirit as Count Basie, Woody Herman as signature, meets Karin Tingne, a singer with roots in soul, gospel and blues. The idea was that the collaboration would result in a concert already in 2020, but everyone knows what got in the way. Well, now it's finally time; a world-class singer and an incredibly playful big band. In addition, with several new arrangements specially written for Karin Tingne. An exciting musical meeting awaits, and the setting at Ystads Teater is the best imaginable.

Karin Tingne has established herself as one of Skåne's absolute best soul/gospel voices. With her own "Karin Tingne Band", she plays regularly around Sweden and is frequently hired both as a studio musician and as a guest in many contexts on the live stage, not least at Ystads Teater.

Big Blowin' Band, the big band from Ystad has existed for over 40 years and has collaborated with many big names in jazz. In recent years Isabella Lundgren, Peter Asplund, Vivian Buczek, Meta Roos, Kjell Öhman, Filip Jers and others can be mentioned. With Svante Thuresson, the band did an acclaimed performance in 2015 at Ystads Teater, with interpretations of Beppe Wolger's texts and songs.
