In recent years, Jonatan Unge has become one of Sweden's most beloved comedians. He has toured with stand-up groups like SEMST and Comedy Carneval, entertained us on podcasts, radio shows, and TV programs such as "På spåret" and "Alla mot alla." However, what he hasn’t done is a solo tour—until now!
“It’s claimed that people wanted more of me, but you should be careful what you wish for because it CAN come true. And yes, now it has,” says Jonatan Unge. On 11 February, Jonatan brings "Jonatan Unge Solo - A Completely Own Stand-up Tour" to Ystads Teater!
“I’m looking forward to meeting my audience without training wheels. You can never guarantee that something will be good, but this time I can promise it will at least be long. Previously, I always had to condense myself, but now I have the luxury of doing what all men my age wish for the most—namely, to be long-winded,” says Jonatan.
Jonatan Unge has been doing stand-up since the mid-00s, and in 2019 he was named Male Comedian of the Year at the Swedish Stand-Up Gala, and in 2022 he was nominated for the Swedish Humor Prize. He has, among other things, done eight tours with Branne Pavlovic and Ahmed Berhan under the name SEMST and toured with Petrina Solange and Magnus Betnér under the banner Comedy Carneval. In other words, he is no newcomer to these contexts, but it is only now that he is stepping out fully on his own with "Jonatan Unge Solo – A Completely Own Stand-up Tour."
“Previously, you’ve seen me in a context; now with this show, we meet completely without context, and I hope it doesn’t disgust you,” says Jonatan.
“This performance will be about everything I’m interested in, like sex, how I view sex, society, my opinions on it, history, my thoughts on history, phenomena in general, my perspectives on these phenomena, and other things, as well as what I have to say about just other things,” says Jonatan.
"Jonatan Unge Solo – A Completely Own Stand-up Tour" premieres at Moriska Paviljongen in Malmö on 8 February 2024 and will then visit 17 more cities during the spring, including Ystad, Karlstad, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Växjö, and Umeå.
Duration of the performance: 90 minutes without intermission.
