Author visit

On Sunday, April 28th, we will be visited by Ali Alabdallah and Emelie Hill Dittmer. Ali Alabdallah will talk about his book "To love crackers".

Ali Alabdallah was born and raised in Damascus Syria and worked as a journalist. He has written four books in Swedish since he came to Sweden in 2013. His latest book "To love crispbread - surprising lessons" is an autobiographical novel that gives the reader an interesting story or reflection on life between two cultures (the Arab-Muslim world and the moderately extreme Sweden). Ali received the diversity index Award in 2018 and the Landskrona cultural prize in 2015.

Emelie Hill Dittmer, writing educator, journalist and author of the book Write to heal - A guide in reflective writing (Lassbo publishing house). The book is based on research, case studies, writing exercises, interviews and the author's own story and entry into the world of writing therapy in England. She has many years of experience in healing writing processes both in England and Sweden, and both with groups and through individual supervision, including from Österlen Folkhögskola and family groups within Simrishamn municipality. She is a board member of the International Association for Journal Writing (IAJW) and this year starts the writing therapist training at Sundsgårdsakademin at Sundsgården folk high school in Helsingborg.
