Author visit: Tove & Hanna Folkesson

Midsummer Eve 1938 a steamboat docks in Borgholm. The sleepy idyll struggles to maintain society with shiny new thermal baths, imported brandy and royal glitz. At the forefront is the Stockholm girl Ingrid, who writes in her diary about everything except her engagement. On the train from the sugar mill's Mörbylånga - where the first ever holiday began - Måna sits with a pocket full of dirty money. During a whirlwind party night, Ingrid and Måna meet to the sounds of jazz.

In their first joint novel "Badort" Tove Folkesson and Hanna Folkesson dive into the Swedish seaside resort era and depict it from a new perspective: the love of two young women in a place where old traditions are measured against the new.
